Factory selection guide

How to specify a reliable solar storage system.

For distributors, installers and project buyers across Africa and Southeast Asia. Use this checklist before requesting an inverter, battery or complete solar-plus-storage proposal.

Start with the application

A model number is not a system design.

Reliable selection starts with the load, required operating time and local electrical conditions—not only the inverter power printed on a quotation.

A complete proposal should coordinate PV input, inverter output, battery voltage and capacity, communication, protection, generator or grid behavior, and installation conditions.

Information to prepare

Six inputs that make a quotation useful.

01

Country and site

Destination country, installation environment, altitude and typical ambient temperature.

02

Electrical standard

Single or three phase, nominal voltage, frequency and whether grid and generator inputs are available.

03

Load profile

Continuous load, largest starting surge, daily energy use and which loads must remain powered during an outage.

04

Backup target

Required backup hours, acceptable generator runtime and whether daytime solar should recharge the battery.

05

Project scale

Required quantity, target installation date, OEM requirements and expected future expansion.

06

Solar conditions

Available roof or ground area, shading, panel orientation and expected local solar resource.

Sizing logic

Power and energy answer different questions.

INVERTER POWERMaximum simultaneous load + starting surge

Then verify phase, voltage, PV range, battery compatibility and operating mode.

BATTERY ENERGYEssential load × required backup hours

Then account for usable depth of discharge, conversion losses, reserve margin and future expansion.

Buyer questions

What should be confirmed before ordering?

How should inverter power be selected?

Start with the maximum simultaneous load and the largest motor or compressor starting surge. The inverter must also match the site phase, voltage, battery platform, PV input window and required generator or grid functions.

How is battery capacity estimated?

A useful starting point is required load energy divided by allowable battery depth of discharge and system efficiency. Final capacity should also consider reserve margin, temperature, cycle-life target and future load growth.

When is a hybrid inverter better than an off-grid inverter?

A hybrid inverter is useful where solar, battery and grid power must be coordinated. An off-grid inverter is often selected where the system must operate independently and may use a generator as an additional charging source.

What changes for hot or humid markets?

Confirm enclosure rating, installation ventilation, operating-temperature derating, corrosion exposure and protection against rain, dust and direct sunlight. Battery rooms and cabinets should follow the product installation requirements.

Can one specification be used for every country?

No. Grid voltage, frequency, phase arrangement, utility rules, climate, installation practice and certification requirements vary. Every export project should be checked against its destination market.

PROJECT MATCHING

Send your load, country and backup target.

We will recommend a suitable inverter, LiFePO4 battery and complete solar configuration for technical confirmation.
